Listen to Donna's Interview below on The Hot Wax & Doo Wop Memory show with host DJ Cal on Good Time Oldies Radio,
Donna's in-depth interview with Sheila Burgel of WFMU Radio in New York. In Sheila's words: "This may just be the best interview I’ve ever done, thanks to Donna’s honesty, openness, and compassion. She shared so openly about her experience as a child working in Hollywood, cutting records with California’s top music-makers like Glen Campbell and David Axelrod, starring on rock n’ roll TV show Shindig, and promoting Dr Pepper—all whilst being heavily guarded by her step-father and the Dr Pepper corporation." REVIEW: "Loren had an impressive voice and the intelligence to know what to do with it; there's a strength and maturity in her performances on tunes like "A Woman in Love (With You)," "Hold Your Head High," and "Leave Him to Me" that outstrips a significant majority of her peers — all the more impressive considering she was just 18 when most of this was recorded." REVIEW: "…right out of the gate the record sweeps you off your feet, from opener “Just a Little Girl” sweeping in its Spector-isms , the record is full of sparkling, soaring pop music with grandiose strings, majestic all the way around. A few other faves include “It’s Gotta Be,” “Call Me” (you know that one), “They’re Jealous of Me” (and if you’ve ever seen a picture of Donna this is probably true) and too many more. I mean, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this record but I got so much more than I’d ever hoped. Sure, Loren didn’t write any of these songs, but her booming vocals bring the songs to life, like any great vocalist can. Wow!" Read more…

The package features singles, unreleased tracks, and Loren's classic Capitol album Beach Blanket Bingo – which has great work from the team of HB Barnum and David Axelrod!" Read more…

Donna Loren, 60's Pop Icon, Releases New Single for Digital Download
February 25, 2012, Los Angeles, CA – The 1960's "Dr Pepper Girl" has released an original composition entitled "Moonlight Kisses" for digital download that is available on iTunes, Amazon and other major distributors and streaming music services. Ms Loren was the producer and sang all of the vocals on the track. She wrote the song in Sedona, AZ in 1995 after falling in love. The track was recorded in 2009 at Lava Track Studios in Hawaii. “It was a privilege to collaborate with Grammy Award-winning guitarist and Palm Records founder, Charles Michael Brotman. His masterful guitar playing and my stacked vocals is a wonderful marriage of West Coast meets Polynesia.”
"Donna Loren's music and acting pedigree reaches back to the 1960s. From her early days as the spokesperson for Dr Pepper to her singing performances in many of the Beach Party movies to her becoming a regular on the Shindig! television series, she established herself as a female teen idol…. It's nice to have Donna Loren alive and well and performing again. While she has connections back to the 1960's, she should not be considered a nostalgia act, as her sound has since been modernized." – David Bowling, BLOGCRITICS.ORG, April 5, 2011
