My Wedding Suit on “Mothers-In-Law”

One of my last television appearances was an episode for a 1960’s sitcom, Mothers-In-Law. Loved working with a live audience and the ‘golden girl’ veterans Eve Arden and Kaye Ballard, among others. The segment was called Herb’s Little Helpers and was broadcast on Feb. 11, 1968.

2-pc Dress & Jacket Ensemble

The Dress

Designer’s Label

This outfit was by by Louis Feraud. From the mid 1950s he was dressing the Parisian elite and designed the wardrobe of Brigitte Bardot for many of her movies. I believe this designer was influenced by Courreges who’s futuristic designs resembled this neckline and used a lot of metal. The buttons used for this ensemble are large chrome-like discs. As much as I loved to design and sew, I didn’t always have the time. Also, by this time in my career, the budget had increased to allow for some shopping sprees.
