\"\"<\/a>My Week with Marilyn<\/a><\/em> kicked off a legendary trip back to a ‘Golden Age’ of film. Shot at Pinewood Studios<\/a> in England, this homage is told from the vantage point of a lovestruck young man who worked on the set of the original 1957 film The Prince and the Showgirl<\/em><\/a>, shot at the identical location, Pinewood Studios<\/em><\/a>. It starred Sir \"\"<\/a>Lawrence Olivier<\/em> and Marilyn Monroe<\/em>. In My Week With Marilyn<\/em>, the characters are very authentically portrayed by Michelle Williams<\/em><\/a> and Kenneth Branagh<\/em><\/a>. I feel the ’57 film shows the real Marilyn<\/em> at her best.<\/p>\n

To my surprise, my darling husband, Jered<\/em>, invited me to a second movie! This time at Quentin Tarantino’s<\/em><\/a> theater in West Hollywood, the New Beverly Cinema<\/em><\/a>. Honestly, both movies were Jered’s<\/em> picks; I was his date. Seated in the beautifully restored movie house QT<\/em> owns, one feels a ‘going back in time’ experience. Even the popcorn is fresh, w\/real butter.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Well, Jered<\/em> fixed his eyes on a movie he had seen when it opened in 1966! The science fiction film, directed by Francois Truffaut<\/em><\/a> and starring Julie Christie<\/em><\/a> and Oskar Werner<\/em><\/a>, started out with a bang – totally captivating. One of the highlights of the evening is that the film had been restored, so the reds were brilliant – just like an old technicolor movie!
